Sophie

Sophie joined the Will & Way team in 2024, bringing with her a thoughtful, values-driven approach and a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She’s known for her honesty, integrity, and unwavering commitment to doing what’s right—especially when navigating complex or sensitive situations.

Graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2014, Sophie is also a qualified lymphoedema practitioner and a member of the Australasian Lymphology Association. Her career began in the public healthcare sector across Western Melbourne and Townsville, where she supported individuals with life-limiting conditions and discovered a deep interest in lymphoedema management. Motivated by a desire to reduce discomfort and improve quality of life, she trained extensively in the field and became an active member of the Queensland Health statewide Lymphoedema Working Group, contributing to education, resources, and policies that promote evidence-based practice.

At Will & Way, Sophie continues to provide lymphoedema services while drawing on her experience with progressive and life-limiting conditions to inform her approach to care planning, carer training, and assistive technology prescription. She also has a knack for supporting home and living goals, with an impressive track record of securing funding that enables clients to create living arrangements that reflect their individual needs, values, and aspirations. She thrives in team environments and is guided by a strong desire to understand the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind decisions to help people achieve what matters most to them.

Outside of work, Sophie loves adventuring in the great outdoors with her husband, two kids, and their dog. Whether they’re exploring new playgrounds or getting their feet sandy at the beach, Sophie is always up for some fun. As a former gymnast, she also never misses a chance to try out some old moves and spend some time upside down!
