Lymphoedema Practitioner
Sophie graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2014. She is also a qualified lymphoedema practitioner and a member of the Australasian Lymphology Association.
Â
Before joining the Will & Way team, Sophie gained valuable experience in the public healthcare sector, working in both Western Melbourne and Townsville. During this time, she developed a strong passion for and expertise in supporting individuals with life-limiting conditions. Her interest in lymphoedema management was sparked by her desire to reduce discomfort and enhance the quality of life for her clients. Sophie trained extensively in this field and became an active member of the Queensland Health statewide Lymphoedema working group, where she contributed to education, resources, and policies promoting evidence-based practices.
Â
Sophie values understanding the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind decisions, always striving to deliver outcomes that make meaningful differences. She enjoys discovering what is important to people and taking a collaborative problem-solving approach to achieve goals. Her respectful and compassionate nature, combined with her thirst for learning, enables her to get to the heart of what matters to people and build strong therapeutic relationships.
Â
Outside of work, Sophie loves adventuring in the great outdoors with her husband, two kids, and their dog. Whether they’re exploring new playgrounds or getting their feet sandy at the beach, Sophie is always up for some fun. As a former gymnast, she also never misses a chance to be upside down, adding a fun twist to her outdoor escapades!
