Occupational Therapist

Jen graduated from Charles Strut University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2018. Jen also holds a Diploma of Professional Counselling, Advanced Diploma’s in both Community Services Management and Remedial Massage (Myotherapy) and a level 4 certificate in workplace training and assessing. Prior to all this further learning, Jen worked as a Division 2 Registered Nurse for 17 years, predominantly in public hospital settings.

As evidenced by her work and schooling history, Jen has a genuine thirst for continuous learning and a love for career pathways that allow her to meaningfully connect with people. It is not surprising that Jen eventually found her calling in Occupational Therapy.

Before joining the Will & Way team, Jen worked as an Occupational Therapist in both private and public community sectors, predominantly supporting older adults. Jen has strong skills in goal setting, home modification and equipment prescription, falls risk reduction, manual handling, supporting life transitions and capacity building.

Jen enjoys building positive therapeutic relationships with her clients and helping them to find the best solutions for their needs. Jen's can-do attitude and high level of accountability and efficiency makes her a woman of action: she gets the job done!

Outside of her professional life, Jen fills her cup with camping trips and bushwalking. She is also part of a book club and admits to occasionally "cheating" by watching the movie when she hasn't had time to read the book. A while ago Jen tackled her fear of needles by becoming a regular donator at the blood bank. She says that the snacks they provide offer a helpful distraction!
